In his will Nicholas left ten shillings to the poor people of Rainham together with a quantity of wheat to be distributed to the poor of Rainham on a yearly basis at Quenecombe Barn. His executors were his brothers John Adye and Thomas Adye of Doddington, William Hennaker and John Mendham of Rainham and Johane the daughter of William Barker of Rainham.
He left ten pounds to his son John and twenty pounds to his daughter Agnes, he left all of his books to John Adye the son of his brother John Adye.
To his brother John Adye his short riding gown faced with black lamb and lined with white lamb, to his brother Thomas Adye his short gown and the gold ring which he commonly wore, to William Hennaker his greater long gown furred with lamb and faced with budge and to John Mendham his black gown welted with velvet and faced with budge together with the table and stools at his house.
The closing paragraphs of his will say that Nicholas's brothers John and Thomas shall have custody rule and governance of his children John and Agnes until John reaches 21 and Agnes reaches 18 or marries. The children are to be bought up virtuosly and in the fear of God, John is to attend school and Agnes at their good discretion to be in some good mans service.
The will was witnessed by William Croxon, Walter Thomson and Phillip Wood, there is no mention of a wife so we must assume that his wife died before him.
